Flight93 Memorial Campaign
The Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) at Flaherty Elementary needs heroes like you to help the heroes of Flight 93.
In September of 2001, thirty-three innocent passengers and seven crew workers, just like you and me, were headed on an airplane, to visit family, attend business conferences, doing what they do every day, when their flight, Flight 93, was hijacked by terrorists who were using the aircraft to strike ground targets in the United States. In order to save thousands of others’ lives, these courageous heroes, the passengers of Flight 93, overtook the hijackers and crashed the aircraft into an empty field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
The HALO Foundation of Akron, Ohio has partnered with The Flight 93 National Memorial Campaign to provide a memorial for the 40 heroes of Flight 93 who sacrificed their lives to save others. The goal of the campaign is for every American to donate a minimum of 93 cents for this cause, making each person a part of the endeavor. The ground where these heroes last rested will be the site of the memorial, a place to honor and remember their courageous efforts.
Flaherty STLP wants you to be a part of this meaningful endeavor. We have set a goal of $2000 to be reached by May of 2009.
I think it is great that you all are trying to raise funds for such a great cause. What are you doing next?
