Elementary’s Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) sponsored a pumpkin decorating contest. This contest was to raise money for the Flight 93 National Memorial Campaign.
Several teachers and students decorated pumpkins for the contest. Students and faculty voted on their favorite pumpkin by donating money into the appropriate container. There were a variety of pumpkins to vote for. Mrs. Backstrom’s class decorated the winning pumpkin. They chose to decorate their pumpkin with the American flag and the Flight 93 symbol. Mrs. Backstrom’s pumpkin raised just over $122.
Altogether, STLP raised a little over $500, which will be used to help build the memorial in remembrance of the passengers and crew members of Flight 93. The group’s goal is to raise $2000 by the end of the year. Way to go Mrs. Backstrom’s class and all the teachers and students who helped raise the money!
